Hello & Welcome

Danielle Cotter, MA LMFT-PMH-C

I’m so glad you’ve found your way to this little corner of the healing world. Reaching out for support isn’t easy, and I want you to know—you’re in the right place.

I’ve always been drawn to the deep, messy, beautiful complexity of being human. That curiosity has led me on a lifelong journey of learning, growing, and weaving together both psychological and spiritual wisdom to heal my own heart and walk alongside others on their path.

I’m here to offer a calm, welcoming space where you can share your story without judgment. Together, we’ll explore what’s no longer working, uncover the deeper meaning behind your struggles, and map out a path forward that’s grounded in your strengths, values, and relationships.

When you come to therapy, you’ll be met with warmth, insight, and genuine respect for the unique journey that’s brought you here.

Approach

Therapy takes courage. It means showing up, digging into your thoughts, emotions, and patterns—even when it’s hard—and learning to understand yourself in new and meaningful ways. My goal as your therapist is to build a real, down-to-earth connection where you feel heard, respected, and supported. That relationship becomes the solid ground we stand on as you begin to make changes that matter.

I bring a creative and personalized approach to each session, blending different tools and perspectives to help you move through what’s stuck and find healing that feels authentic and lasting. I’m all about creating a space where you can be fully seen and accepted—where you can show up just as you are.

Stepping into therapy means facing parts of your story that may feel heavy, confusing, or painful. That takes real courage. But courage isn’t about having it all figured out—it’s about showing up anyway. In this space, courage looks like trying something new, being honest with yourself, breaking old patterns, and choosing to grow even when it’s uncomfortable.

I also believe creativity is key to healing. Sometimes words aren't enough—and that's where things like imagery, movement, metaphor, or a fresh perspective can unlock something powerful. Together, we’ll explore different ways to access your inner wisdom and navigate life’s challenges in a way that feels true to you.

And above all, connection is where healing really starts. Feeling truly seen and supported can change everything. The relationship we build in therapy isn’t just helpful—it’s healing in itself. It’s the space where transformation begins.

Therapeutic Approaches

You are as unique as your fingerprint. We will co-create the path that works best for your desires, specific circumstances, learning preferences, personality, and conditions

Natural World

A nature-based approach to therapy taps into the calming, healing power of the outdoors and the honest, grounding presence of horses. Out in nature, you get the chance to slow down, breathe, and come back to yourself in a real, meaningful way. Horses have a special way of tuning into what we’re feeling and reflecting it back without judgment—which can help us build awareness, trust, and connection in ways that go deeper than words. This kind of work can lead to powerful growth, resilience, and a stronger sense of belonging—to yourself, to others, and to the world around you.

Relational Lens

Our relationships are just as fundamental as food, water, and shelter. The systems (or communities) we live in and a part of can impact mental health more than we realize. Therefore, relational and community health are a touchstone of wellbeing and are addressed to create harmony in your life.

Nervous System Integration and Brain Science

A nervous system and brain-based approach to therapy is all about understanding how your brain and body respond to stress, emotions, and relationships. When we work with the nervous system, you learn practical tools to help you feel more grounded, manage emotions, and create a real sense of inner safety. It’s based on the idea that our brains can change and grow (thanks, neuroplasticity!)—and that with some self-compassion and support, you can shift old patterns, feel more in control, and build lasting wellbeing from the inside out.

Body Wisdom

A somatic approach to therapy honors the body as a vital source of wisdom, healing, and insight. By gently tuning into physical sensations, breath, and movement, you learn to listen to the messages your body carries—often holding the key to unprocessed emotions and past experiences. This deepened connection with your body helps build safety, regulation, and self-trust, allowing healing to unfold from the inside out.

Experiential Approaches

An experiential approach to therapy invites you to get out of your head and into your whole self—mind, body, and spirit. Using things like movement, art, and writing, we can tap into feelings and insights that sometimes get missed in regular talk therapy. These hands-on, creative ways of working help you express what’s going on deep inside, make sense of it, and reconnect with your inner wisdom so you can move forward feeling more clear, grounded, and true to yourself.

Trauma Sensitive Modalities (EMDR & IFS)

A trauma-sensitive approach to therapy creates a safe, respectful space where you can explore your experiences without overwhelm or shame. Using modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR, this approach gently supports the healing of past wounds by honoring all parts of the self and processing painful memories at a pace that feels manageable. You are empowered to build inner trust, release burdens, and reclaim a sense of wholeness and self-leadership.
